Day 1

Mexico City transfer to Puebla through Cholula

Our journey begins with a departure from Mexico City toward the historic town of Cholula, home to the impressive Great Pyramid of Cholula, the largest pyramid by volume ever built.

Continue to the beautiful church of Santa María Tonantzintla Church, famous for its remarkable “Indigenous Baroque” decoration blending European and Indigenous artistic traditions.

Arrival in Puebla, where you will enjoy a city tour of its historic center.

Day 2

Puebla a City of Angels

Today you’ll explore the cultural treasures of Puebla. Highlights include: the colorful street art district of Xanenetla, the renowned Amparo Museum, the historic forts where the Battle of Puebla took place and a visit to a traditional Talavera pottery workshop. Overnight in Puebla.

Tehuacan Puebla Biosphere

Day 3

Transfer to Oaxaca from Puebla

Travel south toward Oaxaca City, passing through the spectacular landscapes of the Tehuacan‑Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve, a protected region famous for its extraordinary diversity of cactus species. Arrival and overnight stay in Oaxaca.

Day 4

Oaxaca´s Treasure & Famous "Barrios"

Explore the historic center of Oaxaca and its vibrant neighborhoods. Highlights include, visiting local markets, walking through the colorful barrios of Jalatlaco and Xochimilco, admiring the city’s Cathedral and colonial architecture and visiting the magnificent Santo Domingo de Guzman Convent, where you’ll see the famous treasures from Tomb No. 7. Overnight in Oaxaca.

Day 5

Monte Alban & Alebrijes

Today you’ll discover the impressive Zapotec capital of Monte Alban, perched high above the Oaxaca Valley. Later, visit the artisan village of San Martin Tilcajete, famous for its colorful handcrafted alebrijes, imaginative wooden sculptures painted with intricate designs. Overnight in Oaxaca.

Day 6

Mitla, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal

Today is a full day exploring the cultural and natural wonders of the Oaxaca Valley.

Highlights include,visiting the ancient Mitla, known for its intricate geometric stone mosaics, seeing the giant tree in Santa María del Tule. Additionally admire the natural formations of Hierve el Agua and visit a traditional mezcal distillery and a textile workshop in Teotitlan del Valle. Overnight in Oaxaca.

Tehuacan, Puebla

Travel back toward Puebla with a stop in Tehuacan. Visit the Government Palace and admire the murals painted by the Carpinteyro brothers. Overnight in Tehuacan.

 

Day 8

Cacaxtla-Mexico City

Before returning to Mexico City, visit the remarkable archaeological site of Cacaxtla, famous for its well-preserved pre-Hispanic murals. Arrival in Mexico City and end of services.
